Camping
Want to really make the most of your Tropical Fruits NYE experience? Each year the Lismore Showgrounds transforms into a wonderous Fruity world as our campsite fills with festival attendees from all over Australia and the world.
It’s a fabulous way to make new friends, share a drink or a meal in the communal kitchen area, have spontaneous campsite gatherings and enjoy events such as the exclusive campsite party on December 30th.
Just a short stroll (careful in those heels!) from the official party site, camping is a great way to enhance your Tropical Fruits New Year Festival experience. The campsite opens days before the official NYE Festival events take place, giving you the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind and enjoy the Fruity atmosphere.
Campers are free to come and go from the campsite as they please, with wonderful ‘Rainbow Region’ day trip options to enjoy during your visit, including waterfalls, Nimbin and the famous Kings Beach.
There are designated quiet zones for the quieter camper and an extremely camp zone for those wanting to enjoy the festivities to the fullest!
On-site facilities include toilets, hot showers, communal kitchen and chillout areas and a range of local food vendors. There are powered sites available for both tents and campervans, available on a first-in basis (extra charge).
Camping is sold separately by pre-booking only (no walk-ins) and is only available to people who have already purchased tickets to the NYE Festival. Numbers are strictly limited and will book out. All sites are available on a first-in upon arrival basis and can not be reserved ahead.
- Campsite opens 4pm, December 27th
- No glass bottles permitted - please bring your favourite beverages in cans instead! (750ml bottles exempt)
Tropical Fruits hopes you will join us for an amazing Bush Magik Festival. Please plan, party safely, stay cool and look after yourself and your friends... Happy New Year!

CAMP HUB
Open 9am-9pm daily, this is your go-to spot for assistance, local information, purchase power tags and bags of ice, plus a spot to chill out and cool down in the shade.
Plus check out the daily listings for a range of FREE fruity workshops, talks and events!
POWERED SITES
Limited power outlets are available on site, these will be reserved for campers in vans. Pre purchase your camp power when you buy your tickets.
Some power outlets will be reserved for people with medical and accessibility requirements. Contact us when you purchase your tickets if this applies to you.
Communal power points for recharging electronic devices are available at Camp Hub and Kitchen. Please do not leave devices unattended.
POOLS
Portable and inflatable pools can be a great way to cool down in the Lismore heat, however they pose a safety risk to you and your fellow campers, are an extra use of water and create more waste if thrown out when you depart. We encourage campers to consider the need to bring a pool. If you do, please be aware:
- 1 small pool per campsite permitted (max 70cm high and 250cm sq)
- $50 levy charged per pool (proceeds to Tropical Fruits Landcare initiatives)
- You are responsible for the safety of users at all times and removal of the pool
CAMPEST CAMP COMPETITION
A Tropical Fruits tradition. Judged during Camp Party, with a special prize awarded to the campsite that creates the most wonderous camping setup. Bonus points awarded for matching this year’s theme and being environmentally conscious.
SAFETY
Tents get hot in the subtropical sun! Stay hydrated and look after your mates and neighbours.
First Aid is available at Camp Hub. You’re a mate, not a doctor - get help in the event of a medical emergency. Don’t hesitate to call 000 if required.
Familiarise yourself with the emergency assembly locations and in the event of an emergency please follow the directions of the Safety Warden.
RECYCLING AND WASTE
Please consider ways to reduce waste and recycle when packing for Tropical Fruits. Don’t throw out any functional camping equipment when departing - please place it in the drop off zone so it can be donated to charity.
Our fabulous Green Team will be hard at work all festival, please help them out by using the clearly marked recycling, waste and ‘Return and Earn’ container recycling bins or placing large general waste objects directly into the appropriate skip bins.
